Vina Edmara Chardonnay
Winery information: Chilean winemakers are blessed with some of the most desirable conditions on earth: exceptional soils, ideal temperatures, intense sunlight combined to make Chile a paradise for growing healthy grapes. The Central Valley is a vast region, containing patches of land where the finest grapes are grown. Our winemakers have combed this valley to find grapes which could be transformed into fruit-driven wines at the best possible price.
Vina Edmara’s wines combine intense varietal characteristics, a cleanliness of delivery and an intensity of finish that are the hallmarks of any good Chilean wine. In that, they are superb representations of what this amazing country is capable of.
Vinification: Grapes are hand picked, destemmed and crushed. They are pressed both with whole clusters and destemmed. The temperature is controlled at 10°C
and fermentation (30-50 NTU) is carried out at low temperatures, 13 to 15°C. In this stage, some lots are kept in contact with wood to add depth and complexity to the wine. Once fermentation has finished, the wine is clarified and filtered for bottling. It is aged in stainless steel tanks.
Tasting Note: This lively young wine has a vibrant flavour with luscious tropical notes and delicate undertones of wood giving complexity. Balanced acidity sustains the taste and gives freshness to the palate.
