Dopff au Moulin Pinot de Riquewihr
Winery information: Wine growers since 1574, today, 3 generations manage the Dopff's estate: Pierre Dopff, the Managing Director, his son Pierre-Etienne, General Manager, and Etienne-Arnaud, Logistic and Development Manager. With more than 70 hectares of productive vineyard, Dopff 'Au Moulin' has become the most important domain in the heart of the best wine region. It is mainly situated around the little town of Riwuewihr, on the south-facing slopes of the Schoenenbourg ('Belle côte'), excellent Riesling country. It has also extended towards Hunawihr, Mittelwihr, the Hardt of Colmar and as far as the Brand of Turckheim.
Vinification: Gentle pneumatic pressing in whole bunches was followed by static decantation and temperature controlled fermentation.
Tasting Note: Expressive nose showing pears and peaches through to a rich and balanced palate with a crisp finish.
Every day serving suggestion: Classical regional food from Alsace (quiches, onion pies, tarte flambée) In season it is lovely with fresh white asparagus. Serve also with cold cuts, white meat (chicken, veal) spicy grilled fish, pasta.
