Kevin's comments: With notes of liquorice, this is a chunky style wine with some substance showing good regional typicity of spice and red fruits with a hint of dried apricots.
SIGNE VIGNERON
Signé Vigneron was established by Olivier Ravier in 1997 in order to produce and promote the wines of the Beaujolais with good typicity from their respective areas. Olivier Ravier, in addition to consulting with other wineries and selecting wines from top growers in the area, owns vineyards on the prestigious la Madone hill in Fleurie, characterised by the small chapel which is situated on the top of the hill. He is particularly proud of his vineyards situated right at the very top Autour de la Madone from which his Réserve is made. All wines are presented in Signé Vigneron's unique engraved bottle and show a silkiness of tannins and mouthfilling texture which is the hallmark of Olivier's wines.
Morgon is an important Beaujolais Cru which encompasses about 1,100 hectares of vines around the communes of Villié-Morgon. Soils here are more weathered which produces wines of greater phenolic ripeness resulting notably denser and longer lived wines than most Cru Beaujolais.
