Kevin's comments: A rich blend of Semillon (60%), Sauvignon (35%) and Muscadelle (5%) grapes has given this wine its fine and complex aromas of citrus fruits and honey with a remarkably fresh and lively palate.
Chateau Tasting Notes
CHATEAU BARET BLANC
When leaving Bordeaux in the direction of the Graves and Sauternes area, the Baret estate is the first vineyard you come across on the way. This Chateau is located in the Villenave d'Ornon vicinity of the region of Leognan where most of the great growths are to be found. For over 100 years this growth has belonged to the Ballande family. Now it is one of the last growths of this community, because the suburbs of Bordeaux have engulfed more and more of their beautiful surroundings. The quality of the soil attaches this growth to the appellation Leognan, next door to it. Feret in his "Bordeaux et ses vinse" is very complementary about it.
The vineyard produces, like most of the leognan growths, wines of great quality, equally in white and in red. The white wines are distinguished by their elegance and class.
