Chateau de Campuget Rose Invitation
Winery information: Costieres de Nimes, the easternmost appellation of the Languedoc, is effectively part of the Rhone since the climate, soil and topography are so similar to those just over the river in the southern Cotes-du-Rhone vineyards. The relatively uniform soils are marked by large pebbles on gentle, typically south-facing slopes. Chateau de Campuget is a top quality estate near Nimes with a long history. In its cellar, tradition and progress unite to provide aroma, finesse and bouquet. Chateau de Campuget deploys a wide range of traditional Rhone cepage to produce full, easy and spicy wines.
Vinification: This wine is made by draining off the vat. Colour is obtained through a short maceration of between 4 and 12 hours, according to the sort of grape. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with the temperature controlled at 18°C in order to extract the maximum aromas. After racking and filtration, the wine is immediately bottled at the Château.
Tasting Note: Lovely pink colour - good weight for a Rosé showing bright berried fruit through to a crisp and lingering finish.
Every day serving suggestion: Served at 14°C, it is perfect for summertime meals, with fresh salads or around a barbecue. Its is particularly recommended with grilled red peppers pickled with the olive oil from Campuget.
Blend: 70% Grenache, 30% Syrah
