Sancerre Le Cul de Beaujeu Domaine Serge Lalou
Winery information: This small Domaine is situated in Thauvenay where they have 15 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and 5.5 hectares of Pinot Noir, of which 1.5 hectares is made into Rosé. The vineyards are managed under the sustained agriculture method (Lutte raisonnée) by Franck with his sister Christine.
Viticulture: Lutte raisonnée. Yield 35 hl/ha from a 1 ha vineyard at Chevignol.
Vinification: Pressed pneumatically, cold soak for 48 hours at 10 degrees followed by 8 months elevage in tank. Lightly fined before bottling.
Tasting Note: Lovely mineral nose with great depth and complexity while retaining the purity of the appellation and varietal. Top notch Sancerre.
