Chateau Tasting Notes
Chateau Fortia is a symbolic estate in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, both for its location and its roots that are closely linked to that of its appellation. Bruno Leroy de Boiseaumarie, the current proprietor and descendant of a family whose name is closely identified with the fight to establish appellations of origin. In 1929 due to the efforts of Baron Pierre Leroy, Chateauneuf du Pape became the first appellation with a set of winemaking regulations. However, Bruno Leroy does not rest on his laurels. Instead he strives to heighten the renown of his 30 hectare property and that of the appellation launched by his grandfather.
Grape Varieties:
43% Clairette,35% Grenache Blanc, 21% Roussanne and 1% Bouboulenc
Yield:
32HL per hectare
Vinification: I
Immediate pressing of the grapes. Cold settling of the juice. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled tanks. After racking the wine is aged on its lees in small tanks with regular stirrings. The wine is then bottled during the spring following the harvest.
Serve:
Chilled to accompany fish and seafood dishes, white meats and creamy pasta or rice dishes
Taste:
A stylish dry white wine, deep golden in colour, rich and fruity, full of peachy and creamy flavours with a balanced acidity and a long finish.
