Chateau Tasting Notes
SCHLOSS JOHANNISBERG ROSALACK RIESLING AUSLESE
Schloss Johannisberg is said to have been the first vineyard planted on the right bank of the Rhine, an area which the Romans did not cultivate. The vineyard has existed since at least since 1100 and was deeded to Prince Metternich by the emperor of Australia after the Congress of Vienna. It is the classic Rheingau vineyard whose wines are the most elegant of the Rheingau wines, light, lively, with a mature acidity and a clean aftertaste. The wines are long lived and gain in balance and smoothness with age.
Grape variety: 100% Estate grown Riesling
Area of Origin: Rheingau Domaine Schloss Johannisberg

Taste: From a careful selection of very ripe grapes, this dessert wine has a lovely, complex and honied nose with subtle botrytis overtones, elegant with a wonderfully long sustained finish.
