CANTINE SAN GIUSEPPE SAN MARZANO DI SAN GIUSEPPE TARANTO, PUGLIA
Cantine San Giuseppe are situated near Taranto in Puglia and more precisely in the northern area of the Salento peninsula. The Cooperative was founded in 1962 and now has 1,500 members whose vineyards are situated between Taranto and Brindisi. The winery is equipped with the very latest vinification equipment and produces modern styled wines.
VERDECA PUGLIA IGT MASSERIA TORRE ROSSA
Grapes: 100% Verdeca grapes from hillside vineyards around the village of San Marzano In the salento area of Puglia.
Soil: Clay Vines per Hectare: 4000 Harvest : by hand end of August
Vinification: The grapes were de-stemmed, gently crushed and left with skin contact for 24 hours. Fermentation took place at 12-14C in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. No wood was used. Maturation took place in stainless steel tanks until bottled.
Colour: Pale yellow with greenish tinges.
Taste: Fresh, dry, white wine with persistent aromas of green apples, honey and wild flowers. In the mouth the wine has a pleasant natural freshness, and is rich and long.
Serve: Chilled to accompany seafood dishes, crustaceans, poached fish in a light sauce.
