Chateau Tasting Notes

AZIENDA AGRICOLA F.LLI TEDESCHI - VENETO

The Tedeschi family has dedicated its energy and enthusiasm to growing and producing wine in the Valpolicella area for many generations. Tedeschi first purchased vineyards in the area in 1630. Today the Tedeschi family manages 67 hectares of vineyards, out of which 22 hectares are family owned. Recently a further 7 hectares have been purchased and will shortly be planted with new vines.

Although Tedeschi is considered one of the top producers of Amarone and Recioto wines, the family has never rested on its laurels, continually striving to improve the structure of the wine by keeping yields low. The family produce three distinct ranges: Linea Classica, elegant, well-structured wines which offer superb value for money; Linea Capitel, which is Tedeschi's pride and joy and show great quality and variety; Linea Fabriseria which combines innovation with tradition and is the culmination of Tedeschi's years of experience and attention to detail. Awards from national and international competitions are testimony to the family's uninterrupted search for refinement.

Production Area The Monte Tenda Vineyard is situated on the hills around Monteforte d'Alpone and together with the towns of Soave and Ronca, forms the "classic" Soave area.

Soil: Volcanic Clay

Grapes: 85% late harvested Garganega, 15% Chardonnay.

Harvest: Garganega is left on the vines to achieve full maturation until the beginning of October, the Chardonnay is picked earlier at the end of August.

Age of Vines: Average age 20 years old.

Tasting Notes Pale straw, clear with greenish reflection and a lively bouquet with subtle floral tones. A lovely balance of dry fruit flavours with almond undertones. Rich and elegant.
