This Co-operative was founded in 1958 covering a total of 900 hectares owned by hundreds of small farmers producing 70% red and 30% white.
Some of the most innovative wineries in Portugal are now co-ops, and Sto. Isidro de Pegoes is one of the most forward thinking. Sto. Isidro de Pegoes is in the Palmela region, the plains that border the river Sado and the coastal region of the Setubal peninsula. The Terras do Sado is the area of wonderful warm mineral-rich sandy soil called Pilocenico de Pegoes that the Castelao grape so thrives on.

Grapes: Fernao Pires 70%, Moscatel 20% and Arinto 10%
Viticulture and Vinification: Sandy soils. Fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel vats.
Serve: At 12◦C with salads and seafood.
Taste: Intense fruity aroma, soft fruit and floral characters on the palate, well balanced and refreshing with a clean finish.
