Deep Roots Red
Winery information: Under the leadership of Paul Dolan, former President of Fetzer Vineyards, Parducci are committed to socially responsible and environmentally sound agriculture and winemaking methods while working to enhance the quality, recognition and perception of Mendocino County Wines. The winery, the oldest in Mendocino, was certified as organic by CCOF in 2003 and all vineyards are either certified as or in transition to organic and biodynamic status. 150 acres practice Fish Friendly Farming whereby the use of pesticides and other controls which could be damaging to fish, are kept to an absolute minimum.
Vinification: The Deep Roots Red is a special blend that has been created by Steve Daniel especially for the UK market. The indidual parcels of Syrah, Zindandel, Petit Sirah, Carignan and Viognier were fermented sepearately in stainless steeel before being aged in American oak, then the constituent parts were blended by Steve Daniel and bottled.
Tasting Note: Big fruit aromas of ripe raspberry, cedar and vanilla with wild plums, raspberries and white pepper following behind. A big and fleshy wine.
