I finished the UK Ironman distance Triathlon in 14 hours 10 minutes
News Content:
It all started at 4am on Sunday 7th September and after breakfast I made my way to Sherbourne castle lake to start the 2.4 mile swim at 6am.
I came out of the water in 1 hour 7 minutes and finished that portion in the top 300 and 3 minutes ahead of target time.
The bike ride came next, 112 miles up and down some of Dorsets biggest hills, no wonder they say that the UK Ironman is the 2nd hardest in the world! I finished this part in 7 hour 15 minutes which was slightly ahead of target time.
Then the little matter of a 26.2 mile run around Sherbourne. I finished this shuffle in 5 hours 25 and with the transitions it all came to 14 hours 10 minutes which was a massive 50 minutes below the time I had planned for.
Thanks to everyone who donated to Macmillan Cancer and to all those who doubted me, I told you I would do it!
