And now for the fanfare.....the Indulgence Case. This is a selection of the wines we will drink on our best occasions and we think should be on every table at any time of year. These are wines to drink and enjoy, wines to celebrate with and to spoil yourself and your family with, forget all the doom and gloom, celebrate life and enjoy the best.
The selection are as follows
Whites
Moutard Champagne Champes Percin Extra Dry from France. This is called extra dry but it's not really dry at all, it's one of those French oddities which perplexes me but the Champagne is glorious and that's what counts!
Sancerre Domaine Serge Laloue from France is one of the finest Sauvignons we have tried recently, the perfect match to fish especially smoked salmon. A beautiful mixture of elegant gooseberry with crisp elderflower.
Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand is the ultimate in Sauvignon Blanc. This wine will start a party in your mouth with its zingy citrus fruit explosion and tons of Grapefruit flavours.
Chablis Patrick Puize from France. Forget the 1er and Grand Cru's when you can get Chablis of this quality why waste money on names! Perfect with white meats.
Serre da Estrella Albarinio is Spains favourite grape variety. This wine is crisp, acidic full of flavour and just beautiful with fish.
Castelnau de Suduiraut is the 2nd wine of Chateau Suduiraut. This Chateau is right next door to Chateau Yquem which is the most expensive dessert wine in the world. The ultimate in dessert wines, wonderful with cheese, perfect as an apperatif and glorious with dessert. Not too cloying or sweet, just a wonderful explosion of soft honeyed flavours.
Reds
Ondarre Graciano Rioja from Spain. This is one of the only 100% Graciano Rioja's available. Graciano is an ancient Spanish variety and is often described as "The way great Rioja used to taste!" If you love Rioja then you will adore this one.
Chateauneuf du Pape Domaine Grand Tinel from France. No celebration would be perfect without a good old Chateauneuf, the ultimate in decadence. Grand Tinel is one of our favourites and will delight anyone lucky enough to get a glass.
Saint Clair Pinot Noir from New Zealand. The award winning winemakers at Saint Clair have done it again with a stunning Pinot. Elegent cherry and bursting with fruit this is a great Christmas red.
Penny's Hill Cracking Black Shiraz from McLaren Vale in Australia. The ultimate Shiraz, chocolatey, spicy and blackcurranty.
La Clare Medoc from France. The wonderful claret will satisfy even the hardest to please Bordeaux fan. It is one of those unique Bordeaux that you can actually drink now but keep if you want to delay the pleasure.
Starboard Batch 88 half bottle port style dessert wine from California. This can't be called Port due to the silly laws even though it uses the same grapes and is made in the same way as Port, so Mr Quady cheekily decided to call it Starboard and created an exquisite dessert wine that will make you a hero in your house at dinner parties and ensure the day is finished in style.
