Winery information: This estate supplies the Elysee Palace. The family has been involved in viticulture since 1679, and their vineyards include 9 hectares in Santenay, Chassagne Montrachet, Pommard and Nuits Saint Georges and among their wines are Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru, Batard-Montrachet Grand Grand Cru and Corton Grand Cru. Thankfully, young winemaker Francois Lequin-Colin shows no signs of being overawed by his illustrious lineage. The estate is going through organic conversion.
Vinification: Hand picked and sorted manually. Low pressure pressing. light ""débourbage"". Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in barrel. 15% new barrels. Batonnage once a week for 11 month, until bottling.
Tasting Note: Boldly closed with an elegant 'Lux' screwcap, this wine has lovely, honied fruit expression with hints of smoke and complementing toasty oak.
