Tierra Antica Cabernet Rose
These attractively packaged wines show the kind of style and value that has put Chilean wines on the map over the past few years. Wonderful value for money.
Viticulture: The vines are vertically positioned, spaced at 1.5 x 2.2 m and drip irrigated. Our vineyard canopy management begins in the spring with the elimination of undesired shoots. The crops are green harvested to eliminate short shoots.
Vinification: Most of the grapes were hand picked, although a small portion was mechanically harvested to ensure the optimal level of ripeness in the fruit. Upon arrival at the cellar, the grapes were carefully destemmed. A prefermentation cold maceration at -5°C was carried out for 6 hours prior to fermentation. The juice was then separated from the skins and solid material and sent to stainless steels tanks for a 14–16 days of fermentation at temperatures that varied between 12°–16°C. The wine was stabilized for 15–20 days at 4°C (39°F) and later earth-filtered prior to bottling.
Tasting Note: This Rosé displays an astonishing bright pink colour and a nose that features intense aromas of tart strawberries and cherries mingled with a note of citric fruits of medium intensity. In the palate, the wine reveals a medium body, an elegant acidity and good persistance. This lovely Rosé stands for its freshnes, soft mouth-watering acidity and mineral hints.
Every day serving suggestion: Fruity, refreshing wine to enjoy with ceviches and grilled white fishes. Best served at 12º Celsius.
