Chapel Down Rose
CHAPEL DOWN, TENTERDEN, KENT
New Wave Wines is a new company. They make wine from grapes grown in England under the Curious Grape and Chapel Down brands. Because they are new they don't have preconceived ideas about wine and wine drinkers and because they are English they don't have many familiar grape varieties.
They come without baggage and snobbery, tradition and convention. They come with fresh wines, fresh ideas and fresh energy. These are however, some traditions that they will keep alive. Quality is at the very core of what they do, and they will not let a bottle out of their winery if it does not reach their own exacting standards.
Their winery is situated at Tenterden in Kent and has received major investment in the most technically advanced winemaking equipment and is making fresh, modern and clean tasting wines that have been repackaged most attractively.
Vinification: Short skin contact to extract the pale colour of this rose and then bottled early to capture freshness and acidity.
Tasting Note: Delicate smoked salmon pink colour. English strawberries and redcurrants on the nose and palate with a juicy and fruity flavour through to dry finish.
Every day serving suggestion: Chilled, ideal as an aperitif or with light dishes
