Gerovassiliou Avaton
Winery information: This state of the art winery is surrounded by 55 hectares of meticulously well cared vineyards on the slopes of Epanomi. It is the brainchild of Vangelis Gerovassiliou who inititated the revival of the family vineyard by planting the nearly extinct Malagousia in 1981. Domaine Gerovassiliou guarantees consistent, high quality wines of international acclaim every year.
Viticulture: The low yielding vineyards are cultivated in compliance with ecologically sustainable management practices.
Vinification: Oak fermented in small oak tanks (40 Hl) followed by malolactic fermentation in new barriques and then aged in the same barrels for 18 months.
Tasting Note: The wine has an excellent and complex structure. Its blackberry fruit shows spice and depth, finishes dry and is totally individual. It can be drunk now or laid down.
Every day serving suggestion: Interesting partner with hearty stews, savoury dishes, flavoured game dishes
