Montlouis Quarts de Nouy Sec Domaine Laurent Chatenay 2010
Winery information: Fabulous small Loire producer, Laurent Chatenay is making outstanding wines in the appellation of Montlouis. The small 6 hectares of vineyards are certified organic and the only variety grown is Chenin Blanc. Owners Laurent and Sylvette Chatenay bought this parcel of vines in 1996. They are passionate about using no chemicals and pesticides in their vineyards and also using minimal intervention with their winemaking approach.
Viticulture: Fruit hand-picked from young organic vines grown on the left bank of the Loire.
Vinification: 100% fermented in stainless steel tanks.
Tasting Note: Fresh and vibrant with citrus and mineral notes, the palate is soft and round yet light. 10g of residual sugar has gone into the wine yet it is not overly sweet as it is perfectly balanced with the acidity. An absolute treat!
