production of high quality fruit.
Berton Vineyards was established by Cherie and Bob Berton in 1996. Since then
the company has expanded to include Chief Winemaker James Ceccato, Finance
Director Jamie Bennett, Sales Director Paul Bartholomaeus and Business Manager
Rachel Wood. Bob Berton is managing director. All have a long experience in the
wine industry and who, together with Bob and Cherie, constitute a close knit and
determined team.
Winemaker James Ceccato set out to source wines from cooler areas reflecting
the typicity of these regions. The Berton team were ?Head Over Heels? with his
wine samples and the name stuck.
HEAD OVER HEELS SAUVIGNON BLANC SEMILLON
Grapes: 51% Sauvignon Blanc and 49% Semillon
Region: South Eastern Australia
Winemaking: The fruit for this wine was harvested in the cool of the
night. Each grape variety was fermented separately. Skin contact
lasted 6 hours and fermentation too place in temperature controlled stainless
steel tanks lasting 4 weeks. The wines were then blended and
sterile bottled.
Serve: Chilled to accompany seafood and fish dishes or simply
anytime.
Tasting Notes: Refreshing and herbaceous in style with hints of lychee,
gooseberry, limes and melon in the background. The vibrant mouth filling
flavours lead to a crisp clean finish.
