Sir Percy 2006 Bilton Wines
Sir Percy, a classic Bordeaux-style wine, was made in 2004 as a dedication to the Bilton family’s great-grandfather, Sir Percy Bilton.
Born in London in 1897, Sir Percy Bilton was the youngest of 11 children. He started his first business when he was still a boy, selling grease remover which he hand-delivered with this bicycle. This entrepreneurial drive helped him build a group of successful property companies in the early 20th century that were listed on the London Stock Exchange in the 1970s.
In 1962, Sir Percy founded the Percy Bilton Charity in which he took a keen personal interest until his death in 1982. This charity cares about children, young people and the elderly who are socially and educationally disadvantaged or underprivileged.
