Kevin's tasting notes - A lovely example of a French Pinot Noir, soft, juicy cherry flavours with just a hint of farmyard aromas.
LE BEAU CHENE PINOT NOIR
Name : PINOT NOIR BEAU CHENE
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir (100%)
Appellation : Vin de Pays d'Oc
Malolactic fermentation : 100 %
Style : Soft, round, fruity red wine.
Region of origin and Languedoc Roussillon. The grapes come from various "terroirs" each adding its own character to the wine. The Pinot Noir grape originated from Burgundy but is now performing well in the South of France. These grapes were grown on cool hillside vineyards where Mediterranean and Oceanic climates meet.
Pinot Noir produces fruity, well-structured wines, with good acidity making them ideal partners to food.
Average yield : Low : 50 hectolitres per hectare.
Winemaking : This wine was vinified in the Languedoc by Catherine and Laurent Delaunay, two young Burgundian oenologists who were impressed by the quality potential of the region. The grapes had traditional maceration in temperature controlled vats lasting 12 to 15 days, in order to preserve their fruit
Tasting notes : Bright red in colour with flavours of red fruits (strawberries and raspberries). It is fruity, elegant, easy to drink and very well balanced.
Serve at room temperature with roast meats and cheeses.
