Kevin's comments: A blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes which have been vinified separately and then blended together. The resultant wine completes its fermentation in small wooden casks. It is fruity, full and soft with notes of cherry, vanilla and spice on the nose. Quite delicious.
Chateau Tasting Notes
CASA VINICOLA CARPINETO - TOSCANA
Casa Vinicola Carpineto was founded in 1967 and is situated in the heart of the Chianti Classico area at Dudda, on the site of an ancient Roman settlement, which included the Carpineto vineyards.
From the company's inception, the owners Antonio Zaccheo and Giovanni Sacchet chose to dedicate their energies to the production of traditional Tuscan wines while keeping track of new technological developments. Experimentation and new product research has gone hand in hand with the rediscovery of historical wines. This vision has made Carpineto one of the leading emergent producers in Italy consistently receiving awards and world wide recognition for quality.
The Carpineto wine making style produces wines that are full-bodied, complex and fruity in character, with a round, supple tannin structure and a long, persistent, clean finish.
Carpineto's Dogajolo is one of the most innovative wines to be found, it embodies all the characteristics that one most appreciates; youthful vigour, mature wood, smoothness and a fruity and fragrant bouquet - qualities not often found in any one wine!
