Kevin's comments: With some Syrah and Merlot in the blend, this is a fruity, very drinkable rose with a clean, crisp finish.
DUCA DI CASTELMONTE WINES FROM CARLO PELLEGRINO, MARSALA, SICILY Some 50% of Pellegrino's sales are for still wines and the company is considered to be one of the most innovative in the south of Italy. In order to give a greater emphasis and definition to the area of activity the wines are sold under the DUCA DI CASTELMONTE label.
In the 1970's the company was the first to market a range of wines produced from native grape varietals and has continued to seek the individualism and character of the true wines of Sicily. This strategy is now paying dividends, as people tire of the classic varietals, they are coming to respect traditional wines from Sicily. What customers are also finding, to their benefit, is that Sicilian wines offer fantastic value for money.
