OPAL RIDGE SHIRAZ CABERNET

We have successfully developed the Opal Ridge range of wines over a number of years. Competitive pricing is
paramount. When you add top designer labelling, together with the wine quality level Berton Vineyard produces, we really do have a powerful value for money proposition. We offer four styles. The Semillon Chardonnay has a fresh, fruity style while the Gewurztraminer and Verdelho combines the aromatic Gewurztraminer with the fuller bodied Verdelho to produce a vibrant and fresh tasting wine, medium in style. The Shiraz Cabernet displays peppery, plum and violet characters balanced with subtle oak; a flavoursome wine that is soft and smooth. Finally, the Cabernet Merlot is a classic blend and combines good depth of flavour with supple tannins and good palate length.

Grapes:  Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon 

Viticulture: From a blend of Shiraz and Cabernet grapes grown in the Riverland (South Australia), Riverina (New South Wales) and Kings Valley (Victoria).

Vinification: The fresh grape must was fermented cool in rotary fermenters to ensure the maximum flavour and colour was extracted from the skins. This wine is a blend from the above three premium grape growing regions, allowing each component to contribute its unique characteristics to the final blend to produce complexity, balance and structure.

Taste: The wine has aromas of spice and black pepper with undertones of chocolate and cherry characters. A soft and easy drinking wine.

Serve:  At room temperature with meats, poultry, cheeses and creamy pasta dishes.
