Berton Vineyards is located near the village of Eden valley, in High Eden a sub region of the Eden valley in South Australia. This is a region of rugged beauty straddling the ridge that is the divide between the Eden valley and the Barossa. At this altitude, the cool climate provides ideal conditions for the production of high quality fruit.
Berton Vineyards was established by Cherie and Bob Berton in 1996. Since then the company has expanded to include Chief Winemaker James Ceccato, Finance Director Jamie Bennett, Sales Director Paul Bartholomaeus and Business Manager Rachel Wood. Bob Berton is managing director. All have a long experience in the wine industry and who, together with Bob and Cherie, constitute a close knit and determined team.
Winemaker James Ceccato set out to source wines from cooler areas reflecting the typicity of these regions. The Berton team were ‘Head Over Heels’ with his wine samples and the name stuck

Grapes: 100% Riesling.
Region: Clare Valley Tasting Notes: Harvested late in the season – (Forgotten actually!), this medium sweet Riesling displays youthful hues of straw and grass with fresh and spicy aromas of lime leaf, apples and lemon grass. The palate has a medium sweetness with a tangy roundness filled by sweet citrus and ripe melon. Alcohol 13.5%
Serve: Perfect with spicy Asian foods or simply anytime! This wine has been made to drink now but will cellar for 2 years.
