Berton Vineyards Metal Label Moscato 2015

The Metal Label Moscato from Berton Vineyards is another hit in Berton's Metal Label Range. Instantly recognised by the it's distinctive Pewter Label and the fact that it is in a 750ml bottle rather than the 375ml bottles that this style of Moscato normally come in. The wine is a delight to drink and being only 9% in alcohol is often used as the ideal lunchtime drink and is also a low calorie wine for this who want to enjoy wine without the guilt of high calories. This wine is fresh, light and sweet with a subtle spritz and aromas of fresh grapes and orange blossom.

Established by Bob & Cherie Berton in May 1996 with 75 acres of land at 450m above sea level on gently rolling hills in a sub-region of Eden Valley in South Australia. The superb Reserve Shiraz and Reserve Chardonnay wines are still sourced from this plot. In 2007 Bob purchased the Yenda winery in the heart of the Riverina. This state of the art facility has the capacity to process 10,000 tonnes, and allows Berton Vineyards to produce value for money wines which sit alongside his premium single vineyard offerings.

Vinification
The grapes were cool night harvested, and then transported across the hay plains to our Yenda winery. The grapes were de-stemmed and crushed, pressed and cold settled, before being racked off lees and inoculated with specially selected yeast strains. The ferments were carried out seperately in stainless steel tanks at a constant cool temperature of 13 degrees. After ferment the wins were then immediately racked off yeast lees and filtered, stored in stainless steel tanks ready for blending. The Chardonnay has had a little oak treatment.

Viticulture
All vines have been spur pruned. Vine age is varied. Vines are planted roughly 1.8m apart with 3.6m between the rows to allow machinery access. The trellis system is generally a single wire cordon.

Tasting Note
Aromas of fresh grape, orange blossom and hints of musk jump from the glass. The palate has delicate flavours of lychees and peach with floral undertones, soft clean acidity and a light The Moscato Frizzzante is fresh and light with a sweet and delicate palate frizzante which tickles the palate.

Everyday Serving Suggestion
The Metal Label Moscato Frizzante is perfect for a refreshing glass at any time! Especially good with desserts such as fruit flan.
