Berton Vineyards Metal Label Moscato 2015.

The Metal Label range from Bob Berton has a new star in the line up with the Metal Label Moscato. This is a medium sweet wine with a lovely freshness that comes from the slight spritz. At only 7% in alcohol so it is regarded as the perfect wine to drink at lunchtime on a hot day while relaxing in the garden.

Established by Bob and Cherie Berton in May 1996 with 30 hectares of land at 450m above sea level on gently rolling hills in a sub-region of Eden Valley in South Australia. The superb Reserve Shiraz and Reserve Chardonnay wines are still sourced from this plot. In 2007 Bob purchased the Yenda winery in the heart of the Riverina. This state of the art facility has the capacity to process 20,000 tonnes, and allows Berton Vineyard to produce value for money wines which sit alongside their premium single vineyard offerings.

Vineyard

All vines have been spur pruned. Vine age is varied. Vines are planted roughly 1.8m apart with 3.6m between the rows to allow machinery access. The Trellis system is generally a single wire cordon.

Winemaking

Harvested at night, the grapes were gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel vats. The fermentation process was kept at an optimum temperature to retain full varietal characteristics.

Tasting Note

Aromas of fresh grape and orange blossom jump from the glass. The palate has delicate flavours of lychees and peach with floral undertones and a vibrant, refreshing acidity. This wine is fresh, light and sweet with a subtle spritz that tickles the palate.

Serving Suggestion

The Moscato Frizzante is perfect for a refreshing glass at any time! Especially good with desserts such as a fruitflan.
