Biblia Chora Estate White 2015

The Ktima Biblia Chora Estate White is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Assyrtiko from the Kavala area of Greece. The Biblia Chora Estate White has a gentle, yellow-green colour of  remarkable clarity. The marriage of the cosmopolitan and fragrant Sauvignon with the Greek Assyrtiko produces a wine with a powerful aroma redolent of exotic fruit, peach and citrus. The is a rich, cool and beautifully balanced white wine which pairs beautifully with risottos, lighter white fish dishes with delicate sauces.

Ktima Biblia Chora is one of the newest estates on the Greek scene. Evangelos Geravassiliou and Vassilis Tsaktsalis are two of the best white wine makers in Greece. The vineyards are based near Kavala, the second largest city in the north of Greece, where the excellent soil and microclimate provide long growing seasons.

Vinification
Fermented in stainless steel tanks, no fining or filtration was performed.

Viticulture
The density of the planting is 4.000 plants/ha. All works (pruning, harvest ) are handled by hand.

Tasting Note
Biblia Chora Estate White is super fresh, a typical Sauvignon nose, with a hint of nettle and lashings of gooseberry and passionfruit. The native Greek variety, Assyrtiko, has imparted citrus aromas and bone-dry minerality to the blend.
