Winery Information:
Based in Emilia Romagna, Gruppo Cevico is the second biggest Italian wine producer, representing 18 wineries and with over 6,700 hectares under vine. Until four years, it was a shareholder of GIV and is Italy's fastest-growing wine company. This is one of the most impressive companies we have ever been to. As well as the benefits of size, Cevico offer a myriad of small estates producing a bewildering array of wines, from both established and lesser-known appelations.LE ROCCHE MALATESTIANA: This wine cooperative was established in 1994 by the merging of the most ancient vine-growing and wine producing structures of the Rimini province: the Cantina Riminese and Cantina Vlconca di Morciano. The Cooperative took its name from the Malatesta family, lord of Rimini, who had immense properties in the Marche and Romagna regions already in 1200.

Soil:
Low clay-based topsoil eich in limestone with rocky subsoil
 
Vinification:
The Sangiovese red grapes are from hillside vineyards near Rimini, not far from the Adriatic Sea. The grapes are vinified in white (no skin contact). The juice is exposed to oxygen to remove any traces of pink colour. . Fermentation takes place in oak barrels. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 8-10 months followed by a further 6 months in bottle prior to release.
 
Tasting Note:
Intense bouquet of fruit combined with creamy oak notes. The wine is elegant, full bodied, with a lingering finish,
 
Every day serving suggestion:
A fantastic wine to pair with dishes such as fresh pasta with truffle olive oil, chargrilled poultry, full flavoured fish such as tuna or salmon and fresh seafood.
