Michel Torino Cuma Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Dark red rubies glitter through the purple highlights of this wine. It’s explosion of spicy dark berries on the nose are accompanied by those of black currants, red pepper and black olives. The flavour of cassis, black berries, and ripe tannins echo the affinity of the aromas. With an elegant finish the wine is aged in steel tanks rather than oak to preserve the deep fruit flavours. This Cabernet Sauvignon drinks well with roast beef, grilled Moroccan lamb chops, poultry dishes, and spicy foods.

Michel Torino's vineyards in Salta, Cafayate, are among the highest in the world; 1,700m above sea level, basking in splendid isolation surrounded by desert and breathtaking mountain scenery. The vines get 350 days of sunshine, but at this altitude there is a consistent breeze to cool things down. This sunny but cool climate, combined with the rocky and sandy soil is an ideal environment for growing grapes. From the 2006 vintage, their vineyards have been certified as totally organic, but Michel Torino chooses only to bottle four wines as organic. Exceptional wines from a unique part of the world.

Vinification
No oak, stainless steel fermentation.

Viticulture
100% organic, the production of this wine adheres to strictly controlled and certified processes in the vineyard and in the winery. Natural fertilizers and methods of pest control are used. Irrigation comes from the nearby Andes.

Cuma Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Note

Cuma Cabernet Sauvignon has lots of cassis flavours with a hint of leather through to a meaty palate with notes of olives and black pepper.
