Michel Torino Cuma Malbec 2015

Little oak is used in the production of this wine as the intention is for it to be appreciated young. It’s aromas of fresh raspberry and blackcurrant, and mouthwatering tastes of fruit and spice give this wine it’s appeal.

Produced in a climate of low rainfall with hot days and cool nights, the vine has very little interference from humans or pests. The scent and taste of plums echo through this wine and dance with blueberry, tarragon, rosemary and lighter spicy notes. A delightful wine to serve with roasted root vegetables, red meats, including duck and wild game.

Michel Torino's vineyards in Salta, Cafayate, are among the highest in the world; 1,700m above sea level, basking in splendid isolation surrounded by desert and breathtaking mountain scenery. The vines get 350 days of sunshine, but at this altitude there is a consistent breeze to cool things down. This sunny but cool climate, combined with the rocky and sandy soil is an ideal environment for growing grapes. From the 2006 vintage, their vineyards have been certified as totally organic, but Michel Torino chooses only to bottle four wines as organic. Exceptional wines from a unique part of the world.

Vinification
No oak, stainless steel fermentation.

Viticulture
Pergola, Flood irrigation, Handpicked, Yield: 10.000 -12.000 kg/ha

Tasting Note
Cuma Malbec has exuberant blueberry and plum flavours. Mouthfilling with a mint and spicy character full of tarragon and rosemary.
