Domaine Botti Saint Veran 2018

The Botti family has owned the 20 hectare vineyard for more than 80 years. The vineyard is situated in the southerly part of the Maconnais in the heart of the Lamartine area. St Veran is produced entirely from Chardonnay grapes and the vines are planted in clay and chalky soils and have a south easterly exposure.

Vinification
The approach to vinification is entirely traditional. The grapes are de-stemmed and pneumatically pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled tanks at 18C in order to preserve the primary aromas. The wine is kept in stainless steel tanks until bottled.

Viticulture
Mechanical harvesting, direct pressing, selection of juices. Severe settling, low temperature fermentation (15/16), malolactic fermentation, racking and ageing on fine lees.

Tasting Note
Mineral notes combined with creamy, ripe fruit through to a crisp and clean finish.

Everyday Serving Suggestion
Domaine Botti Saint Veran is best served at 11 to 13°C as an aperitif or to accompany hors d'oeuvres, cold meats, oysters and shellfish.
