Faultline Sauvignon Blanc 2016 from Marlborough
Faultline Sauvignon Blanc is one of the best value Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc's in the UK restaurant market. It is made by Alana McGettigan who is one of the winemakers of the fantastic Saint Clair Estate. These are the same people who bring other superb wines like the Bishops Leap Sauvignon Blanc to the UK market.
Fault Line Sauvignon is a wine that is teeming with tropical fruit flavours which are balanced with subtle herbaceous characters. This makes it an idea Kiwi Sauvignon to enjoy on it's own as it isn't too overpowering with the grapefruit and fruit bomb explosion that you get with many lesser quality New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
Faultline Sauvignon is a superb wine to drink with Thai food as well as the usual matches of fish and shell fish and lighter pasta dishes.
This wine gets it's name from a large earthquake that happened in 1848 in the Awatere Valley of Marlborough. The resulting Fault Line gave some amazing free draining soils which are perfect growing conditions for Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
This wine is vinified in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.
This Sauvignon Blanc is well rounded white wine displaying wonderful tropical fruits and a subtle hint of herbs. It also has delightful honey suckle characteristics and the softest hints of guava and lychee.
