Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina del Sannio DOC 2015

Winery Information:
One of the main protagonists in the renaissance of southern Italian wines, Feudi di San Gregorio has carved out a reputation for making truly world-class wines in less than 30 years. The company began in the mid-1980s with the aim of safeguarding local traditions, unlocking the potential of key indigenous grapes (Fiano, Greco, Falanghina, Aglianico) and rediscovering less planted grapes such as Syrica. Located at altitudes between 350-600 meters, the vineyards of Feudi di San Gregorio have extremely varied soil. This great diversity, range of cool micro-climates and the unquestionable ability of their winemakers all combine to produce beautifully balanced, aromatic wines that
are seen as some of the best in Italy. Their white wines are wonderful examples of wines with flair, class and elegance.

The chalky soils around Tufo impart minerality, freshness and length while their Falanghina has an intense perfume and fresh palate packed with fruit and hints of delicate white flowers. Their range of reds shows off the full potential of Aglianco, from the youthful Trigaio through to the full-flavoured Taurasi with its fragrant perfume of marascino cherry, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Most recently Feudi have extended their reach over the border into Vulture, in the neighbouring Basilicata region, another hot spot for Aglianico - a move which makes them an ambassador, not just for Campania, but the whole of Southern Italy.

Soil:
Volcanic

Vinification:
Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 16/18 C, followed by 3 months maturation on the lees in stainless steal tanks.

Tasting Note:
An intense aroma of delicate white flowers and fruit with great balance and a clean finish.

Every day serving suggestion:
Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina del Sannio is ideal as an aperitif, it can also accompany various types of appetizers, plates of simple fish, vegetables and fresh cheeses
