Feudi di San Gregorio Trigaio Aglianico NV

Winery Information:
One of the main protagonists in the renaissance of southern Italian wines, Feudi di San Gregorio has carved out a reputation for making truly world-class wines in less than 30 years. The company began in the mid-1980s with the aim of safeguarding local traditions, unlocking the potential of key indigenous grapes (Fiano, Greco, Falanghina, Aglianico) and rediscovering less planted grapes such as Syrica. Located at altitudes between 350-600 meters, the vineyards of Feudi di San Gregorio have extremely varied soil. This great diversity, range of cool micro-climates and the unquestionable ability of their winemakers all combine to produce beautifully balanced, aromatic wines that are seen as some of the best in Italy. Their white wines are wonderful examples of wines with flair, class and elegance.

The chalky soils around Tufo impart minerality, freshness and length while their Falanghina has an intense perfume and fresh palate packed with fruit and hints of delicate white flowers. Their range of reds shows off the full potential of Aglianco, from the youthful Trigaio through to the full-flavoured Taurasi with its fragrant perfume of marascino cherry, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Most recently Feudi have extended their reach over the border into Vulture, in the neighbouring Basilicata region, another hot spot for Aglianico - a move which makes them an ambassador, not just for Campania, but
the whole of Southern Italy.

Soil:
Volcanic

Vinification:
Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks for about 2-3 weeks, followed by 2-3 months maturation in stainless steel vats.

Tasting Note:
Ruby red with violet reflections. The nose expresses its youthfulness and freshness with perfumes of red fruits such as cherries and raspberries. The taste reveals a well balanced body with great freshness.

Every day serving suggestion:
Feudi di San Gregorio Trigaio Aglianico is best enjoyed with simple grilled meats.
