The Gran Fondo white is designed to be an easy drinking Italian white wine. Made from a blend of Trebbiano, Grechetto and Vermentino this medium white wine is soft, fruity and refreshing to drink. The lovely label with it's pastel colours and scenery evokes all thats good about fun Italian wines.
These stylishly packaged modern wines evoke the very essence of modern, easy drinking Italian wines. Inspired by the Gran Fondos of Italy, the popular cycling events that weave their way through the scenic, coastal and vineyard-dotted landscapes of Italy, these wines are a blend of indigenous and classic varietals. The Gran Fondo duo is produced for us in a state-of-the-art winery, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. Meticulously blended by our buyer, Steve Daniel, they are superb examples of modern winemaking at its very best and offerwonderful value for money.
Vineyard
Guyot training is used on the vines with an average age of eight years.
Winemaking
The grapes were softly crushed and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at 16 to 17°C for a period of 14 days. The wine was then left to rest in tank until bottled.
Tasting Note
A soft, fruity, dry white wine with a hint of spiciness from the Grechetto grape and an aroma of dried fruit and almonds.
Serving Suggestion
Serve chilled as a refreshing apéritif, also accompanies summer salads, grilled white fish and seafood
