Producer Note
Matias Riccitelli is the son of renowned winemaker Jorge Riccitelli (Bodegas Norton). Using the experience, knowledge and passion passed down from his father, Matias decided to set up his very own winery in 2009. Hisvineyards cover 20 hectares located in three selected sites within the premium growing region of Lujan deCuyo, Mendoza. This is a young and dynamic project in which Matias is seeking to express the full potential of Argentine terroir. The vines are deleafed and pruned in January. Grapes are handpicked from Matias Riccitelli's vineyard inVistalba, Lujan de Cuyo.
Winemaking
The grapes were vinified in small concrete vats. After four pumpovers per day and a 30 day maceration period, the wine was transferred into French oak barrels to age for 18 months. The final wine was then clarified before bottling.
Tasting Note
Intense, concentrated aroma of blackberries. Elegant and smooth on the palate with an abundance of blackforest fruit, liquorice and spice.
