The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From The Tree Cabernet Sauvignon 2013.
Producer Note
Matias Riccitelli is the son of renowned winemaker Jorge Riccitelli (Bodegas Norton). Using the experience, knowledge and passion passed down from his father, Matias decided to set up his very own winery in 2009. His vineyards cover 20 hectares located in three selected sites within the premium growing region of Lujan deCuyo, Mendoza. This is a young and dynamic project in which Matias is seeking to express the full potential of Argentine terroir.
Winemaking
Deleafing and green picking is performed in December. Harvest is realized manually in small trays of 20 kg in order not to damage the grapes. Meticulous sorting is performed by hand prior to vinification in order to selectthe best grapes. BLEEDING: 10% FERMENTATION: At controlled temperature of 26°C. Four pumping overper day and a long maceration period of 30 days. 100 % of the wine was aged in French oak barrels during 12months. Final clarification with fresh egg whites.
