New Zealand Reds

A selection of red wines from New Zealand

New Zealand red wines are typically made with either Pinot Noir or Merlot as this seems to be the best grapes that grow in their unique climate. It's only recently thought that more unusual varietals are being planted by forward thinking producers like Saint Clair who have planted grapes like Malbec. Time will tell if other grapes made a mark in the wine world but you can be assured that if it grows well and shows the degree of fruit concentration and quality like the Pinot Noir does, that they will be planted and cultivated soon.
